The much-awaited trailer of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has finally arrived, offering a darker and more intense glimpse into Yash’s next big-screen outing. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film promises a world filled with violence, betrayal, family conflict and morally complicated characters.
The biggest talking point is undoubtedly the face-off between Yash’s two characters. Rather than presenting a straightforward action spectacle, the trailer hints at a story where identity, loyalty and family relationships are closely intertwined.
Yash, who became a pan-India star with the KGF franchise, returns with a radically different-looking character. His performance appears to move between menace, vulnerability and raw aggression, suggesting that Toxic could be a significant departure from his previous mass-action image.
The trailer establishes a period setting where power and violence dominate. According to the film’s synopsis, the story is set in Goa during the years before its liberation, when the region was still under Portuguese rule. The narrative follows characters caught between loyalty, ambition and survival.

Alongside Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth are part of the ensemble. The trailer also puts Kiara Advani in a striking new space. Far removed from the lighter, glamorous roles audiences have often associated with her, Toxic appears to give the actor a darker and more emotionally demanding part, making this a potential career-defining role for Kiara.
Her character seems closely tied to the film’s central conflict, with glimpses of vulnerability, intensity and confrontation suggesting that she could have a substantial dramatic arc. If the final film delivers on what the trailer promises, Toxic could mark an important turning point in Kiara’s career and showcase a side of her acting that audiences haven't seen before.
Nayanthara has also spoken about Yash’s long journey with the film, revealing that he spent around 4.5 years working on the project.
At the trailer launch, Yash described Toxic as an Indian film rather than simply a Kannada, Tamil or Telugu film, underlining its pan-India ambition. The movie has been planned for release across multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English.
The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 26, 2026.
