Singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has opened up about one of the darkest phases of his life, revealing how his seven-year battle with bipolar disorder not only affected his mental health but also drastically changed his physical appearance. He revealed that he was on “heavy medication” for nearly seven years. During that period, he gained significant weight, reaching 105 kilograms, and eventually lost all of his hair. Speaking openly about the experience, he said he is now “totally bald” and wears a wig. The artist admitted that the side effects of treatment deeply impacted his confidence and identity at a time when he was already struggling emotionally.
The rapper also reflected on how bipolar disorder isolated him from the world at the peak of his fame. According to Honey Singh, he spent years locked inside his home, disconnected from social media, public appearances, and even close relationships. He described suffering from paranoia, fear, and delusions, saying there were moments when he believed he would never recover.
In another emotional revelation, Honey Singh said he once “asked God for death” during the lowest point of his mental health struggle. However, he credited proper treatment, faith, and support from doctors and loved ones for helping him slowly rebuild his life and career. He now refers to his comeback phase as “Honey Singh 3.0,” symbolising a fresh start after years of darkness.
Honey Singh’s honesty has sparked widespread conversation online, with many praising the singer for speaking openly about mental health and the hidden side effects of long-term treatment. Fans have also lauded his courage in discussing issues that are often stigmatised in the entertainment industry.
